Pursuant to § 45 of the Rules of the Craft Act, as amended by the Notice of 28 December 1965 (BGBl. 1), which was last amended by Article 24 (1) of the Law of 18 March 1975 (BGBl. 705), the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, in agreement with the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, is responsible for:

§ 1 Vocational Training

(1) The following activities shall be attributed to the craft of brushing and brush makers:
1.
Manufacture of brushes,
2.
Manufacture of brushes,
3.
Manufacture of brush and brush inserts for machines,
4.
Lashing material for the manufacture of brushes and brushes.
(2) The following knowledge and skills are to be attributed to the brush-and brush-maker craft:
1.
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes for brushes,
2.
Knowledge of the manufacturing processes for brushes,
3.
Knowledge of the methods of preparation,
4.
Knowledge of equipping materials,
5.
Knowledge of the wood, metal and plastic parts used for the manufacture of brushes and brushes,
6.
Knowledge of the excipients used for the manufacture of brushes and brushes and for the dressing of equipping materials,
7.
Knowledge of the use and use of the products of the brush and brush maker's craft,
8.
Knowledge of equipment in machines using brush or brush sets,
9.
Knowledge of occupational machinery, tools and equipment,
10.
knowledge of energy supply during operation and energy-saving measures,
11.
knowledge of occupational product and product rules,
12.
knowledge of professional technical rules and regulations,
13.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety and occupational safety regulations,
14.
Knowledge of the occupational requirements of the environment, in particular of immission protection,
15.
Make and read sketches and drawings,
16.
Select the animal, vegetable, synthetic and other equipement materials to be used for the manufacture of brushes and brushes,
17.
Manufacture of the brush head, in particular parts of the fitting material, filling, bonding of the material bundle and cleaning of the brush head,
18.
Complete the brush head with handle,
19.
Merge of assembly material with the guarantbearers,
20.
Set up and operate occupational machinery and equipment,
21.
Trimming and finishing the brushes,
22.
Cleaning of the raw material,
23.
Cutting, sorting and mixing of hair and bristles,
24.
Cleaning and improving the quality through the use of chemical aids,
25.
Finishing by butting, plastering, binding,
26.
Test and control the finished products and monitor the production process,
27.
Maintain and maintain the work-related machinery, tools and equipment.

Examination requirements in Parts I and II of the Master Examination

§ 2 Structure, duration and existence of the practical test (Part I)

(1) In Part I, a master examination is to be completed and a work sample to be carried out. In the determination of the master examination work, the proposals of the test item are to be taken into consideration as far as possible. (2) The preparation of the master examination work should not be longer than five working days, the execution of the work sample no longer than 12 hours. (3) Minimum requirements for the existence of Part I are in each case sufficient performance in the master examination work and in the working sample. Unofficial table of contents

§ 3 Master Examination

(1) One of the works referred to in points 1 to 4 shall be considered to be a master's thesis:
1.
seven brushes and brooms of various kinds, using at least two different manufacturing techniques;
2.
To be done by:
a)
three different types of hair, ready for sale in two different lengths,
b)
three different types of hair unpadded,
c)
of a kind of hair, ready for sale from pre-directed hair,
d)
a hair blend of at least three different types of hair;
3.
seven hair brushes of various kinds, using at least three different types of hair in at least five different sizes;
4.
Seven bristle brushes of different types made of natural or synthetic material in five different sizes.
(2) The brushes and brushes referred to in paragraph 1 shall be manufactured in accordance with patterns or illustrations. Unofficial table of contents

§ 4 Work sample

(1) As a working sample, one of the works referred to in points 1 to 4 shall be executed:
1.
Manufacture of brushes:
a)
four different manufacturing processes for the manufacture of brushes,
b)
Mix besatz,
c)
Manufacture of a watercolour brush, a wide bristle brush and a brush body;
2.
To execute:
a)
Lashing of brush-like hair from different raw materials,
b)
Mixing of different hair lengths and types as well as plucking by hand,
c)
Make a watercolor brush, a wide bristle brush and a brush;
3.
Making hair brushes:
a)
Tying away at least three different equipping materials,
b)
Forcing of hair in different ways as well as in different forms, sticking of the brush heads,
c)
Prepare a brush, a wide bristle brush, and mix and finish a simple hair mix;
4.
Manufacture of bristle brushes:
a)
Produce wide bristle brushes in thicknesses 9 to 12 including bowls in different sizes from the range 1 to 4 inches,
b)
Mangs and sands of paint brushes as well as stalk beating and laying pre-band,
c)
Mantle of a malerkluppe and preparation of a capsule brush,
d)
Forcing bristles in different ways into different shapes using five different types of bristles,
e)
Manufacture of a hair-crystal brush, a brush, as well as a stocking mix for masonry brushes.
(2) The working sample shall examine the most important skills and knowledge which could not be proved, or only insufficiently demonstrated, in the master examination work. Unofficial table of contents

§ 5 Examination of the subject-theoretical knowledge (Part II)

(1) In Part II, knowledge of the following four examination subjects shall be proven:
1.
Technical mathematics:
a)
Calculate the quantities and dimensions of the materials and auxiliary materials,
b)
Conversion of the various units of measurement;
2.
Technical technology:
a)
Use of the products produced,
b)
Manufacturing process for brushes and brushes, as well as finishing processes for equipping materials,
c)
the functioning and characteristics of the machines, tools and equipment used in the manufacture of brushes and brushes and in the dressing of assembly materials, in particular the structure, mode of operation and use thereof,
d)
Environmental protection and rational use of energy, (e) occupational safety and health requirements,
f)
professional environmental legislation, in particular in the field of immission protection;
3.
Material customer:
a)
natural and synthetic equipping materials for the manufacture of brushes and brushes,
b)
Brush bodies, brush stems and handles made of wood, plastics and other materials,
c)
Fittings made of metal and other materials,
d)
Auxiliaries for the production of brushes and brushes, in particular adhesives, wires, binding agents, as well as for the dressing of assembly materials, in particular cleaning, bleaching, colouring agents and other chemicals,
e)
professional standards and regulations, in particular on trade names, sizes, lengths, widths and other subdivisions in the case of finished goods, in the case of equipping materials and in the case of related parts and auxiliary substances;
4.
Calculation: Costing with the inclusion of all factors essential to price formation, including calculations for the calculation of supply and post-calculation.
(2) The examination shall be carried out in writing and orally. (3) The written examination shall not exceed ten hours in total, and the oral test shall not take more than half an hour. In the written examination, it is not to be examined for more than six hours in one day. (4) The examinee must be exempted from the oral examination on request if he has performed at least good written services on average. (5) The minimum requirement for the existence of Part II shall be sufficient performance in the examination subjects referred to in paragraph 1 (2) and (3).

Transitional and final provisions

§ 6 Transitional provision

The examination procedures under way at the date of entry into force of this Regulation shall be completed in accordance with the existing provisions. Unofficial table of contents

§ 7 Additional requirements

The further requirements in the Master Examination are determined by the Ordination on Common Requirements in the Master Examination in the Craft Sector of 12 December 1972 (BGBl. 2381), as amended. Unofficial table of contents

Section 8 Entry into force

(1) This Regulation shall enter into force on 1 January 2008. (2) The provisions to be applied further pursuant to Section 122 of the Craft Code shall no longer be applicable to the extent to which they regulate the subject matter of this Regulation.
