Whereby the life and work of the writer Gonzalo Arango exalts and other provisions.
CONGRESS OF COLOMBIA DECREES
ARTICLE 1o. On the Occasion of the twentieth anniversary of death of famous Colombian writer, glory of American letters and profound vocation journalist, Gonzalo Arango; the Republic of Colombia honors and exalts his memory as one of the great national literary letters that was able to give glory to our country with their rebellion and unmistakable style.
. To contribute to the dissemination of his work and especially among Colombians perpetuate their humanistic ideals, it provides that the National Government executed the following works:
a) Within the annual budget of the University of Antioquia, add the corresponding item to finance the academic performance of the "Chair Gonzalo Arango";
B) to acquire or allocate a venue for a vast literary work; promote, organize and encourage the creation of literary centers; ensure the cultural formation of poets, writers and artists from all fields; sponsor performing concerts, literary gatherings, conferences, concerts, exhibitions, meetings and in general all kinds of events aimed at promoting culture and art in the country; develop a comprehensive program of cultural exchange and cooperation with legal and natural, national and foreign; disseminate, through communications and publications literary texts of poets and writers who deserve to be motivated critical judgment published. In case of acquisition or fitness, the national government will make the corresponding appropriation in the budget for the next term and through Colcultura or entity to assume its functions, shall regulate their functioning;
C) The Ministry of Communications will issue its stamp as a tribute to this illustrious Colombian;
D) An oil portrait of writer Gonzalo Arango will be placed in the hall of the Municipal Library of Andes, Antioquia, village where he was born;
E) two bachelors of Andes, Antioquia, who wish to study Philosophy and Letters at a public university Gonzalo Arango National Scholarship will be created as a stimulus. The Ministry of Education shall regulate the competition and allocation systems.
ARTICLE 3. Authorize the National Government for the term of one year, from the present law, order the budget transfers required to comply.
ARTICLE 4. This Act governs from the date of sanction.
