Law No. 13,718
REFRIGERATION INDUSTRY
PROVISIONS OF LAWS Nos. 12.498 AND 13,114 WERE EXTENDED FOR THE TERM OF THREE YEARS, WHICH COVERED THE MONTHLY WORKERS MADE REDUNDANT FROM SWIFT AND ARTIGAS ESTABLISHMENTS AND INCLUDED IN THE SOCIAL BENEFITS.
The Senate and the House of Representatives of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, meeting in General Assembly,
DECREE:
Article 1 °. Extended for the term of three years, from 1 May 1968, the time limit laid down in Article 4 ° of Law N °
12.498, of 25 April 1958, as regards to the staff referred to in Article 1 of Law No.
13.114of 31 October 1962.
Article 2 °. Companies will be liable for a fine of $200,000.00 (two hundred thousand pesos), for each time they violate the provisions of the preceding article, requiring them to exhaust the Register of the Caja de Compensation for Unemployment in the Refrigeration Industry of Montevideo.
Where the application of the fine corresponds, the personnel who will be affected in the case of the aforementioned Caja will receive simultaneously from the company infringing the payment of the assets corresponding to their category.
Article 3 °. Declare that the monthly workers covered by law N °
12.498 of 25 April 1958 shall enjoy the penalty of this law, of the social benefits which has the rest of the workers of the cold industry of Montevideo.
Article 4 °. The competent body to require compliance with the provisions of this law shall be the Vacancy Compensation Fund in the Refrigeration Industry of Montevideo.
