Law 14.366
CIVIC-LITERARY COMMEMORATION
IS DECLARED IN 1975, ON THE OCCASION OF THE CENTENARY OF THE BIRTH OF THREE URUGUAYAN AUTHORS.
YEAR OF ORIENTATION
The State Council approved the following
LAW PROJECT
Article 1 °. Declared civic-literary commemoration in 1975, to mark the centenary of the birth of Julio Herrera and Reissig, Maria Eugenia Vaz Ferreira and Florencio Sánchez.
Article 2 °. Institutional three critical study contests on:
1) Life and work of Julio Herrera and Reissig.
2) Life and work of Maria Eugenia Vaz Ferreira.
3 )Vida and the work of Florencio Sánchez.
Article 3 °. Institutional for each of the contests referred to in the preceding article, a first prize of $5:000,000 (five million pesos), a second prize of $2:500,000 (two million five hundred thousand pesos) and a third prize of $1:000,000 (one million pesos), which will be awarded to the authors whose works were awarded each of those distinctions.
Article 4 °. Cometate the Editor Commission of the "Artigas Library of the Uruguayan Classic Authors", created by article 14 of Law
11.473 of August 10, 1950, the publication of the complete works of Julio Herrera and Reissig, Maria Eugenia Vaz Ferreira and Florencio Sanchez.
Article 5 °. The Ministry of Education and Culture will promote the site of the monument to Florencio Sánchez in front of the Municipal Intendence of Montevideo in a site that is in line with the character's significance.
Article 6 °. The General Directorate of the Post Office will issue a postage stamp with the effigies of Julio Herrera and Reissig, María Eugenia Vaz Ferreira and Florencio Sánchez.
Article 7 °. The prizes awarded to the winners in the competitions provided for in Article 3 of this Law shall be awarded by the Ministry of Education and Culture in an academic event, at the place of the Executive branch determines.
Article 8 °. Cometate the National Academy of Letters on the organization of the competitions instituted by article 2 ° of this law and the publication of the distinguished studies with the first prize.
Article 9 °. The Ministry of Education and Culture will coordinate with the National Board of Education on how to teach during the present year in all courses of related disciplines, a special teaching on authors whose anniversaries are commemorated.
Article 10. The erogations that are necessary to comply with what this law has, shall be imputed to the items corresponding to the "Fund of Cultural Activities", created by Article 244, of the law
14.189, April 30, 1974.
