§ 1 the requirement to be able to support themselves and the foreigner in section 9 of the Act (2016:752) where temporary restrictions of the possibility to obtain a residence permit in Sweden is satisfied if the person who is the foreigner claiming affiliation to have wages after deduction of withholding amounts to the reserved amount for attachment of earnings in accordance with Chapter 7. paragraph 5 of the enforcement code.

The calculation shall take account also of what is needed for the supply of the foreigner. Compensation from unemployment insurance or other similar work-related compensation is equated with salary. The requirement is also fulfilled where the foreigner claiming affiliation to have income from trade or business or a fortune that he or she can make a living and the alien.



The Swedish Migration Board may announce details relating to supply capacity. The Swedish Migration Board may also provide for what is deemed to be a resident of adequate size and standard according to section 9 of the Act on temporary restriction of the possibility to obtain a residence permit in Sweden.
