Introductory provisions
section 1 of this Act provides for the obligations of the County
that, in addition to what follows from HSL
(1982:763) and dental care Act (1985:125), offer health and
medical care and dental care for asylum seekers and certain other
foreigners.
1 a of the specific provisions relating to county councils ' obligation to
offer health and dental care to people who
staying in Sweden without the support of the administrative or
Constitution Act (2013:407) on health care
to certain foreign nationals residing in Sweden without necessary

section 2 of The regulations that apply to the care given under
health and medical services Act (1982:763) and dental Act
(1985:125) also applies to care given under this Act, if
not otherwise provided.
section 3 A County Council obligations under this law only applies to
foreign nationals residing in the County.
With county councils under this law even municipality not included in
a County Council.
section 4 of this Act covers foreign nationals
1. have applied for a residence permit in Sweden as a refugee
According to Chapter 4. § 1 or other protection status under
Chapter 4. 2 or 2 a of the Aliens Act (2005:716) or
the corresponding older provisions,
2. have been granted a residence permit of temporary protection
or a residence permit for temporary protection, with the support of
the provisions of Chapter 21. 2, 3, 4 or 6 of the Aliens Act
and that is not registered in this country,
3. detained under 10 Cape. 1 or section 2 of the Aliens Act
and that has not been placed in correctional institutions, detention
or police custody, or
4. staying here with the support of the temporary residence permit
According to Chapter 5. 15 or 15 d § aliens.
Such foreigners referred to in the first subparagraph 1 or 2
covered by the law even if they have been issued a decision on
the expulsion. It does not apply to an alien who
keep away so that the decision cannot be enforced.

Scope of care
paragraph 5 of The county councils shall offer such foreigners referred to in
4 paragraph 1-3 and have not reached the age of 18, nursing in
same extent offered the residing in the
the County Council.
Care to the extent referred to in the first subparagraph shall also
be offered foreigners referred to in paragraph 4 4.
section 6, A County Council shall offer foreigners referred to in paragraph 4 of the
first paragraph 1-3 and who has reached the age of 18, care that cannot
delayed, antenatal care, care in abortion and
contraceptive advice.
Health assessment
section 7 of The county councils shall, unless it is clearly unnecessary,
offer foreigners referred to in paragraph 4 of a health assessment. A
such offer must be submitted when a foreign national referred to in paragraph 4 of the
the first subparagraph of paragraph 1 or 2 are established property within the County.
Other foreigners will be offered health examination as soon as it
preferably take place.
