/Entry into force: 01/01/2016/1 of the Council for the protection of the financial interests of the European Union should promote the efficient and proper use of EU-related funds and work to prevent fraud, abuse and other improper handling of such agents in Sweden.



The Swedish national economic crimes Bureau is responsible for the Council's secretariat functions.



section 2 the Council shall



1. promote cooperation between relevant authorities in order to increase efficiency in the prevention, detection, investigation and take measures in case of suspicion of misuse of EU-related funds,



2. follow developments within their area of responsibility and to propose or initiate measures to maintain the protection of the financial interests of the European Union,



3. provide a forum for the exchange of information and experience, and



4. analyze and evaluate efforts in this area.



section 3 of the Council should include representatives of the Swedish national economic crimes Bureau, the police, the customs service, national financial management authority, the State's agricultural work, the County Administrative Board of Västerbotten, the Swedish Migration Board, regional growth and the Council for the European social fund in Sweden. Each authority in Council shall designate one Member and one substitute for him or her. Member of the economic crime authority is the President of the Council.



The Council may, if necessary, appoint one or more members with particular expertise to participate in the work of the Council in so far as the Chairman. The composition of the Council should encourage the development of a highly qualified and effective co-operation between public authorities and other actors in the field.



paragraph 4 of the Council shall, by 15 March every three years, submit a report to the Government on the protection of the financial interests of the European Union in Sweden. Of the report to indicate the measures taken to promote an efficient and correct handling of EU-related resources and to coordinate the efforts of the authorities concerned against fraud, abuse and other improper handling of such funds. The report shall also be shown how the Council's work has evolved and how the Council intends to conduct its work the three next years.
