Zaragoza, February 23, 1994. -Rector, Juan Jose Badiola Diez.

The Statutes of the University of Zaragoza dedicate Chapter I of the Title to the and in its article 102, it is specified that all

In order to harmonize the elaboration of the Master's study plans corresponding to the three schools in the district of Zagoza, as well as to optimize the existing resources, always respecting the autonomy that the Statutes of the University of Zaragoza grants to the Centers, a mixed commission was constituted in which each one of the three Schools of Teacher of Basic General Teaching of the university district was represented together with the Departments directly affected by the Study Plan.

This Joint Committee, in accordance with the provisions of the Resolution of the Government Board, has prepared a project to Profile the Objectives of the Master's Degree, which will be taught at the University of Zaragoza. This document was approved, as established by the Statutes of the University for each of the three Schools, which elevated it to the Governing Board that approved it on March 9, 1993.

Drawing goals for the Master's degree demands to respond to the expectations that the change of the educational system generates and the demands of the society as a whole. At the same time, a number of variables have been taken into account, among which are particularly significant ones that contribute to defining the genuine character of the profession and which are projected on the exercise of functions, in accordance with the law These are considered to be unavoidable for the future teacher as they contribute to the achievement of the major objectives proposed by the education system and which go beyond the strictly school framework. These functions are teaching, organizing, guiding and investigating.

Taking into account the above mentioned functions and the goals proposed by the educational system, a number of objectives were proposed which, without any pretense of completeness, were considered fundamental when it came to raising the initial training of the Master. The following are considered as priority objectives:

Acquire and develop the necessary knowledge, both general and specific, for the exercise of the profession and to mediate between the child and the culture.

Fostering the integrative visions of knowledge leading to an interdisciplinary conception of science and reality.

To know the differential aspects of the student as a person and to develop attitudes of respect towards it and its real possibilities of development.

To develop its activity in the respect of inter-ethnic and intercultural diversity and in the assessment of the possibilities it generates.

To be a guide and guide to the process of construction by the student of his own wealth of knowledge and his interpretation of reality, with an integrative vision.

To know the prescriptive curriculum and social demands and expectations about education.

To know, analyze and implement different educational models and the procedures necessary for their application.

To promote the School's projection towards its sociocultural environment, to achieve a rich interaction between the two.

Evaluate the teaching-learning process by empowering attitudes that allow, if necessary, to redirect this process.

These functions and objectives imply the realization of a series of activities that are susceptible, all of them, of diversification in specific tasks, among which are considered to be the generators of other more concrete ones:

Adapt the general objectives to the specific circumstances surrounding the school and the students themselves, participating in the elaboration of the curriculum project and carrying out the classroom programming.

Develop and evaluate elaborate schedules.

Orienting students in the effective, intellectual and social fields and in the teaching-learning process.

Energizing the relationship center-middle-education. Participate in the responsibility organs of the Center.

According to the proposed functions and objectives, the Joint Commission has published the Projects of Master Studies Plans in different specialties corresponding to the specialties that were to be imparted in the University of Zaragoza. All the plans consist of an identical common trunk, the same being the same as the trunk and obligatory in the plans of the same specialties, although they are taught in different centers. All this in order to rationalize and optimize the plans, with the optativity being the defining element of each Center, when the specialties are repeated. Thus, the following plans of studies were articulated, sanctioned, as well as the document of objective profile of the titration by the Schools of Huesca, Teruel and Zaragoza. Huesca approved the corresponding to Physical Education, Child Education and Primary Education, Teruel Children's Education, Primary Education and Foreign Language and Zaragoza Hearing and Language, Special Education, Physical Education, Music Education, Primary Education and Foreign Language, each and every one of them being elevated to the Governing Board where, finally, they were approved at their meeting of 16 July 1993.
