Commission Directive 96 /18/EC of 19 March amending a number of Council Directives on the marketing of seed and propagating material requires the necessary adaptation to the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on internal rules which had been transposed by Council Directive 66 /401/EEC of 14 June on the marketing of fodder plant seed; Council Directive 69 /208/EEC of 30 June concerning the marketing of fodder plant seed seed of oil and fibre plants, and Council Directive 70 /458/EEC of 29 June September, concerning the marketing of vegetable seeds.

In its virtue, I have:

Article first.

The Technical Regulations for the Control and Certification of Fodder Plant Seeds, approved by Order of 1 July 1986, as last amended by Order of 3 November 1995, are amended as follows:

In Annex II, Pest of the lots and samples, in the second column: Maximum weight of the lot in Tm, "20" is replaced by "25" in the rows corresponding to:

Lupinus albus.

Lupinus angustifolius.

Lupinus luteus.

Pisum sativum.

Vicia faba.

Vicia sativa.

Article 2.

The Technical Regulations for the Control and Certification of Seeds of Oil Plants, approved by Order of 1 July 1986 and last modified by the Order of 13 July 1992, are amended in the following terms:

In Annex 3, Pest of the lots and samples, in the second column: Maximum weight of the lot (kilograms), "20,000" is replaced by "25,000" in the rows corresponding to:

Certified seed (R-1 and R-2) of peanut.

Certified seed (R-1 and R-2) of soybeans.

Sunflower certified seed.

Also, "10,000" will be replaced with "25,000" in the row for the card.

Article 3.

The Technical Regulation on the Control and Certification of Seeds of Textile Plants, approved by Order of 1 July 1986, last amended by Order of 16 July 1990, is amended in the following terms:

In Annex No 3, Pest of the lots and of the samples, in the second column: Maximum weight of the lot (kilograms), "20,000" is replaced by "25,000" in the row corresponding to certified seed (R-1 and R-2) of cotton.

Article 4.

The Technical Regulations for the Control and Certification of Seeds of Horticultural Plants are amended, approved by Order of 1 July 1986, last modified by the Order of 16 July 1990, in the following terms:

In VII.I, Batch Size, the content is replaced by the following:

The maximum batch weight cannot exceed:

a) For seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris, Pisum Sativum and Vicia faba: 25 tonnes.

(b) For seeds of a size equal to or greater than that of wheat grains other than those of Phaseolus vulgaris, Pisum sativum and Vicia faba: 20 tonnes.

c) For seed of less than wheat grains: 10 tonnes.

A tolerance of up to 5 per 100 is allowed at the maximum weight of the batches.

Final disposition.

This Order shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the "Official State Gazette".
