In Article 19 of the Order of the Ministry of the Interior of 10 September 2001, for the development of the organic structure and functions of the central and peripheral services of the Directorate General of the Police, establishes that in the populations mentioned in Annex II of the same, there will be a Local Police Commissioner, who will perform in the territory of her demarcation the same functions as the Provincial Commissaries in her field.

Among the Local Commissaries referred to in the aforementioned Annex II is the so-called Playa de las Américas, a name that, in addition to being that of no municipality, does not delimit in an appropriate way either This is a territorial area in which it develops its competences, which extend to the municipalities of Adeje, Arona, Guía de Isora and Santiago de Teide.

This mismatch between the official name and the territorial scope of the Commissioner's competences is generating certain dysfunctions that the social and citizen organizations have repeatedly requested to be corrected.

Consequently, and in order to adapt the name of the indicated Police Unit to the territorial factual reality in which it develops its functions, the scope of the peripheral services of the Directorate General of the Police, after the Minister of Public Administration has approved, I have:

The name of "Playa de las Américas" is modified, which is related to the number 90 in Annex II "Local Commissaries" of the Order of 10 September 2001, for which the organic structure and functions of the Central and peripheral services of the Directorate-General of the Police, replacing it with the "South of Tenerife".

The territorial scope for the development of the competences assigned to this Commissioner will continue to be the municipal terms of Adeje, Arona, Guía de Isora and Santiago de Teide.

Single end disposition.

This Order shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the "Official State Gazette".
