In accordance with the provisions of Article 115 of the Constitution and in accordance with the provisions of Article 42.1 of the Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June of the General Electoral Regime, on a proposal from the President of the Government and after deliberation by the Council of Ministers at its meeting on 26 October 2015,

DISPONGO:

Article 1. Dissolution of the Congress of Deputies and the Senate.

The Congress of Deputies and the Senate were dissolved on 20 November 2011.

Article 2. Call for elections.

Elections are called for both Houses, which will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015.

Article 3. Deputies and Senators corresponding to each constituency.

1. In application of Article 162 of the Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June of the General Electoral Regime, the number of deputies corresponding to each constituency is the one that is attached in the Annex.

2. In application of Article 165 of the Organic Law 5/1985 of 19 June, of the General Electoral Regime, four senators are elected in each provincial constituency; in the island districts three are chosen in Gran Canaria, Mallorca and Tenerife, and one in Ibiza-Formentera, Menorca, Fuerteventura, Gomera, Hierro, Lanzarote and La Palma.

The populations of Ceuta and Melilla each elect two senators.

Article 4. Election campaign.

The election campaign will last for a fortnight, beginning at zero hours on Friday, December 4, and ending at twenty-four hours on Friday, December 18.

Article 5. Constitutional meeting of the Chambers.

Held the elections convened by this royal decree, the resulting Chambers will meet, in constitutive sessions, on January 13, 2016, at ten hours.

Article 6. Rules governing these elections.

The elections called by this royal decree will be governed by the Organic Law 5/1985, of June 19, of the General Electoral Regime, and its implementing regulations.

Single end disposition. Entry into force.

This royal decree will enter into force on the day of its publication in the "Official State Gazette".
