DISCIPLINE OF EDUCATION UNIVERSITY


We the Captains Regent of the Most Serene Republic of San Marino

Promulgate and publish the following law approved by the Great and General Council
its meeting on 28 April 2005.



Art.1 (Purposes)
1. This law defines the rules on the qualifications, training credits, courses and their academic

Art. 2
(Titles and courses of study)
1. The University issues the following qualifications obtained at the end of their respective courses:
a) Degree;

Art. 3
(University credits)
1. A university credit, hereinafter referred to as credit corresponds to 25 hours of

Art. 4
(of admission to study courses)
1. To be admitted to a degree course must be in possession of a
Secondary School Diploma. The university regulations, without prejudice to the activities of

Art. 5
(Attainment of qualifications)
1. To get the degree, the student must have acquired 180 credits, including those relating to compulsory
knowledge, as well as the Italian language, a European language.
The knowledge should be tested, according to st mode lished by university regulations,
with reference to the levels required for each language.
2. To achieve the Master's degree the student must have acquired at least 120 credits. 3
. The teaching regulations determine the number of credits that the student must have acquired
to achieve the Graduate Diploma.
4. To achieve the university of first Masters and graduate students must have
acquired at least 60 credits, in addition to those supplied in order to respectively
Degree or Master's Degree.
5. For providing the PhD student must have acquired at least 180 credits.

Art. 6
(duration of study courses)
1. Each course of study is defined as a rule undurata years in proportion to the total number of credits
, taking into account that 60 credits correspond to one year.
2. Except as provided in Article 3, third paragraph, the normal duration of the degree
courses is three years; the normal duration of the Master's Degree courses is a further two years after
Degree.
Art. 7
(Academic Regulations)

4. The University Teaching Regulation shall be prepared and issued by Rector's decree, ratified
by the Board of Directors of the University; the academic regulations of a course of study

Art. 8
(Transitional and Final Provisions)
1. People who achieved, according to the teaching regulations, the degree, the master's degree
and PhD and Master, compete, respectively, the academic qualifications

2. They are hereby repealed Articles 19 and 20 of Law 29 November 1995 n. 132.

9 (Entry into force)
