Law amending the Statute of 22 March 1860 for the medal of civil and military
about establishing the Medal of Valor.

We the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino
promulgate and send for publishing the following law that the Great and General Council
in His Returning delli June 9, 1925, holding that the medal established by Law 22
March 1860, according to the military and civil merit, in its pr cise distinctions of "seniority" and "merit"
should be granted only for the titles in it Law considered and better to explain himself;
Belief that with these medals are not rewarded degnatamente many, soldiers and civilians,
they make it worthy of the Fatherland with important at the sacrifice, courage and value;
Approved:
Art.
1. The medal established by Law 22 March 1860 in all distinctions' "seniority" and "merit"
can be conferred to those who have made important serv already but they were not considered worthy of more
distinctions.
That seniority is granted to those who, officers and soldiers, have dignity and substantial period
served in the military bodies of the Republic.
That the "Merit" is awarded to those who have rendered important services to humanity, to the Sciences, the Arts
, the Industries, Labour, the Charity and in any case to the Government and people of San Marino.
Art. 2.
With priority to seniority and Medals of Merit medal to the "Value is established".
The way to achieve the Medal of Valor is to have reported with important
acts of courage, sacrifice and value and that he had made with the same useful and worthy of the Fatherland.
Art. 3.
Like those of seniority and of Merit, the Medal of Valor is three classes: gold, silver, and bronze
. And 'the octagonal shape with the arms of the armed state on the one hand, with the motto around:
Republic of San Marino and with the word "value" on the other, in the middle of an oak wreath.

Art.
4. The right to award medals to the value, merit and seniority lies in the Great Council and
General on a proposal of the Regency.
The medals of merit and seniority may, however, also be conferred on the Commission
Equestrian Order of Saint Agatha.
Art. 5.
The award diplomas, always with motivation regarding the Medal of Valor,
will be marked by the Seal of the State and the signature of Their Excellencies the Captains Regent and countersigned
by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs who It will maintain the register of decorated.
Art.
6. This Act comes into force immediately, leaving the existing Statute 22 March 1860
in unmodified parts.
