The elected (appointed) member of the Federation Council shall commence the exercise of his powers on the tenth day from the date of entry into force of the decision on his election (appointment) by the relevant State authority of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. The powers of a member of the Federation Council shall expire on the date of the entry into force of the decision on the election (on appointment) of a new member of the Council of the Federation, a member of the Council of the Russian Federation, from the same authority.
