The Romanian Parliament adopts this law + Article 1 Romania adheres to the United Nations Convention to combat desertification in countries severely affected by drought and/or desertification, especially in Africa, adopted in Paris on 17 June 1994. + Article 2 At the proposal of the Ministry of Water, Forestry and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Romanian Academy and the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, the Government will determine, within 90 days of the entry into force of the present law, the operative institutional framework for ensuring the coordination, at national level, of the measures necessary to implement the provisions of the convention, in accordance with the provisions of art. 8 8 para. 1 1 and art. 14 14 para. 2 of this, as well as of art. 5 lit. a) and art. 8 8 of Annex no. IV to the Convention for its Application for the Northern Mediterranean Region. This law was adopted by the Senate at the meeting of April 21, 1998, in compliance with the provisions of art 74 74 para. (2) of the Romanian Constitution. p.
