Proposal for Resolution No 3/XI The International Telecommunication Organization by Satellite has as its purpose the
development of a unique global commercial system of satellite telecommunications,
as part of a streamlined world network of telecommunications.
Taking into account that some of the resources designated by "Common Heritage" were
transferred to a private satellite telecommunications operator, the present Agreement
aims to protect the long-term viability of the cited "Common Heritage" and ensure the
interests of the Parties ensuring the continuity of global coverage and connectivity.
It was with this purpose that the Parties decided to amend the sub-paragraph ii) of the paragraph c) from the
Article XII, of the Agreement of the International Telecommunication Organization by Satellite, in the
31 th ITSO Conference, which proceeded in Paris, from 20 a to March 23, 2007.
Thus,
Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the
Assembly of the Republic the following proposal for a Resolution:
Approve the Amendment to the sub-paragraph ii) of the paragraph c) of Article XII of the Agreement of the Organization
International of Telecommunications by Satellite, adopted in Paris, on March 23,
2007, in the framework of the 31 th Assembly of the Parties, the text of which, in the authenticated version in the language
english, as well as the respective translation for Portuguese language, if published in annex.
