PRESIDENCY of the COUNCIL of MINISTERS 1 motion for a resolution paragraph 100/X whereas the Convention on International Civil Aviation signed in Chicago on 7 December 1944, and from which the Portuguese Republic is a party, defines certain principles and measures to develop international civil aviation safe and orderly manner, thereby establishing the international air transport services on a basis of equality of opportunities for exploration of these services effectively and economically; Taking into account that the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on its twenty-first session in Montreal, October 14 1974, taking into consideration the desire of Contracting States to make enlargement the number of members of the Council adopted in accordance with article 94 (a)) of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, signed in Chicago December 7, 1944, that the Portuguese Republic is part, the amendment to article 50, subparagraph (a)) of the said Convention, changing 30 to 33 the number of Council members, which makes it possible to ensure a better balance of this body, by increasing the representation of Contracting States: So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: to approve the Protocol relating to an amendment to article 50, subparagraph (a)) of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, adopted at Montreal on 16 October 1974, whose text, authenticated version in the English language, as well as their translation into Portuguese language, published in annex.
