MOTION for a RESOLUTION paragraph 113/X taking into account existing cooperation through direct contacts between the branches of the armed forces of Portugal and Brazil, as well as the various activities and exchanges have developed; Whereas such cooperation can be extended and deepened in various fields of security and defense, including the technologies and defence industries; Given that article 65 of the Treaty of Friendship, cooperation and consultation between the Portuguese Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil, signed in Porto Seguro, on 22 April 2000, provides for the development of cooperation in the field of defence; Predicting § 8 of the Joint Declaration of the VII Luso-Brazilian Summit of 8 March 2004, the extension of the scope of the bilateral cooperation in the field of defence; So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: the agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil on cooperation in the field of defence, signed in Oporto on 13 October 2005, the text of which, in the authenticated version in Portuguese language If published in the annex.
