PRESIDENCY of the COUNCIL of MINISTERS resolution No. 129/X 1 given that the Portuguese Republic is a party to the United Nations Convention on the law of the sea of 10 December 1982; Whereas the United Nations Convention on the law of the Sea establishes the International Tribunal for the law of the sea; Recognizing that the Court shall enjoy the legal powers, privileges and immunities necessary for the performance of their duties. So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: to approve the agreement on privileges and immunities of the International Tribunal for the law of the Sea, adopted at New York on 23 May 1997, the text of which, in the authenticated version in the English language, as well as their translation into Portuguese language , published in the annex.
