PRESIDENCY of the COUNCIL of MINISTERS 1 motion for a resolution paragraph 95/X PR 343/2008 2008-06-12 in view of the desire to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Portuguese and Moroccan peoples; Aware of the importance to both States to promote cooperation in the criminal field, particularly as regards extradition; Taking into account that the Extradition Convention between the Portuguese Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries on prevention and elimination of crime, through provisions for reciprocal extradition of persons for criminal purposes or for fulfilment of a penalty involving deprivation of liberty applied by a Court of the parties. So: under d) of paragraph 1 of article 197 of the Constitution, the Government presents to the Assembly of the Republic the following resolution: to approve the Extradition Convention between the Portuguese Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco, signed in Rabat on April 17 2007, whose text, authenticated versions in Portuguese, Arabic and French If published in the annex.
