MOTION FOR RESOLUTION No. 80 /X

Recognizing the importance of extradition in the field of the incrementing of cooperation

international judicial in criminal matters;

Aware that the present Convention will simplify and expedite the extradition between the

Member States of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries;

Thus:

Under the terms of the paragraph d) of Article 197 (1) of the Constitution, the Government presents to the

Assembly of the Republic the following motion for a resolution:

Article 1.

Enact the Convention of Extradition among the Member States of the Community of Countries

of Portuguese Language, signed in the City of Praia on November 23, 2005, the text of which,

in the authenticated version in Portuguese language, it publishes in attachment.

Article 2.

Declare, for the purposes of the provisions of Article 9 (2) of the Convention, that the authority

central to the Portuguese Republic for the purpose of application of the Convention is the

Procuradorian-General of the Republic.
