ASSEMBLY of the REPUBLIC draft resolution No. 126/X bearing in mind the resolution of the Assembly of the Republic n° 59/2000 of July 8 and recital 1. each year, the Assembly of the Republic is home to two sessions, similar, dedicated to citizenship education with secondary school students recipients; a part of the project "School House" promoted by Parliament, and another organized by the Portuguese Youth Institute (IPJ), designated "Game room";

2. the IPJ has proposed to Parliament the merger of the two initiatives;

3. the unanimous support that the merger proposal has gathered by the Committee of education, science and culture, since observed, in particular, the respect for the values of democratic participation and civic education;

the Assembly of the Republic, in accordance with paragraph 5 of article 166 of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic shall act, 1-Approve the program "Youth Parliament" as a result of the merger between the annual sessions intended for secondary education, called "School" and "Meeting House, Game of citizenship";

2-the program "Youth Parliament", institutional initiative of the Assembly of the Republic, will comprise two annual sessions-the elementary and secondary education-to organize by air with the collaboration of other institutions, according to the means provided for in the budget of the Assembly of the Republic;
ASSEMBLY of the REPUBLIC 2 3 – it will be up to the Committee of education, science and culture the responsibility to monitor the program, defining, in particular, specific guidelines on the model of the sessions and their preparatory steps;

4-the program has as partners of the Assembly of the Republic for your development and implementation, among others, the Ministry of education, the Secretariat of State for youth and sports, the Secretary of State for Portuguese communities and Regional offices that oversee education and youth in the Azores and Madeira.

5-the project should be open to collaboration with other institutions nationally and internationally.
