Chapter I Purpose and scope

§ 1. Purpose and Scope The purpose of this regulation is to prevent the spread of contagious diseases by artificial insemination in fox at the field station and collection station.

§ 2. Definitions Field Station: Construction of permanent stabling of male foxes with premises arranged for withdrawal, processing and distribution of semen and insemination. Field Station can be freestanding or attached to a fox farm.
Collection Drive: Local which is specially designed for artificial insemination of foxes, which can be used by one or more farmers. Collection station can be freestanding or attached to a fox farm.

Chapter II Provisions for field station

§ 3. General Provisions Upon the establishment of a field station should be approved by the FSA. For the FSA should be able to give approval, the drive must meet the requirements of § 4
Field Station will have a responsible leader and the local FSA shall be notified of who this is.
, Males to be used as donors of semen shall be placed on the drive before mating season begins. Each animal should be examined by a veterinarian and found clinically healthy before each season. They should not be used for natural mating while they stand at the field station.
On suspicion of contagious disease should vet immediately contacted.
Unauthorized should not be allowed to drive.
FSA may withdraw approval if the facility no longer meets the requirements of this regulation.

§ 4. Regulatory Combine that male / sperm donors held in the field station will be surrounded by an escape proof perimeter fence with a minimum distance of 3 meters from the sheds. The following minimum requirements for premises, fittings and equipment at a field station:

Slab and furnishings including benches, tables, etc., which the animals come into contact with will withstand cleaning and disinfection.

Room must be equipped with hand washing, and there should be access to hot and cold running water and clean towel if necessary. Wipers.

The room temperature must be raised to 25 ° C.

Any business that specified for collection station (see §§ 5 and 8) will take place in rooms that are physical and hygienic separated from the field station and has its own entrance from the outside. Other animals than fixed reared males should not be taken into the field station.

Chapter III Provisions for collection station

§ 5. General Provisions By establishing a collection station shall be approved by the FSA.
Collection Station should have a responsible leader and the local FSA shall be notified of who this is. For each mating season shall supervisor maintain a list with names and addresses of the breeders at the station. The list shall be presented to the FSA on request.
All animals brought to a collection station will belong to the district where the collection station is. FSA may grant exemptions from this requirement.

Farmers shall submit written statement animals' health condition before the animals taken into the collection station. It should also be accompanied by a veterinary certificate not older than 7 days, it is evident that the animals come from farm which is free of contagious diseases. At all subsequent visit to the same breeding season should breeders submit written statement to the station manager responsible for health in their own farm.
Owner and inseminør shall ensure that animals coming into the collection station, show no sign of contagious disease. If the animal shows signs of contagious disease, they shall be rejected and veterinarian should be contacted.
FSA may withdraw approval if collection station no longer meets the requirements of this regulation.

§ 6. Requirements for premises etc. The following minimum requirements for premises, fittings and equipment at a collection station:

§ 7. Requirements for operation It can be used fresh semen from field station, from the farm's own sires or from males that farmers have with them the collection station. FSA may allow certain males from other farms in the area are stuck stabled at collection station in mating season. Before these are included, must be provided veterinary certificate not older than 7 days.

Chapter IV Final provisions

§ 8. Inspection and decisions FSA supervises and may make the necessary decisions,. Food Act § 23, to achieve compliance with the provisions laid down in or pursuant to these regulations. The Authority can also issue individual decisions pursuant to the Food Act § 24 to § 26

§ 9. Exemption FSA may in special cases grant exemptions from the provisions of this regulation, provided that it does not conflict with Norway's international obligations, including the EEA agreement.

§ 10. Penalties Deliberate or negligent violation of these regulations or provisions and decisions issued pursuant thereto is punishable under the Food Act § 28

§ 11. Entry into force These regulations enter into force on 1 April 1995.
