Short Title
Regulations on shrimping Svalbard
Adopted by the Ministry of Fisheries on 19 July 1996 pursuant to the Regulation of 3 June 1977 no. 6 in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard § 3.
Changes: Amended by regulation 31 August 2005 No.. 958.
§ 1. This Regulation applies to fishing for shrimp in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard.
§ 2. Only vessels from countries which have traditionally fished prawns in Svalbard territorial and internal waters or fisheries protection zone around Svalbard, fishing shrimp in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard. These are vessels from Canada, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, the EU, Russia and Norway. The scope of each country's participation shall be determined separately on the basis of past fishing.
§ 3 Willful or negligent violation of provisions made in or pursuant to these regulations are subject to penalties and forfeiture under the provisions of § 8 and § 9 of the Act of December 17, 1976. 91 of the Economic Zone.
§ 4. This regulation comes into force immediately.
