Short Title
Regulations on shrimp fishing, EU

Adopted by the Ministry of Fisheries on 19 July 1996 pursuant to the Regulation of 3 June 1977 no. 6 in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard § 3 and regulation of 19 July 1996 no. 726 on the regulation of the shrimp fishery in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard § 2 .
Changes: Amended by regulations on 9 May 1997 no. 454 (including regulations title), August 31, 2005 No.. 953.

§ 1. Until 12 vessels flying the flag of Member States of the European Community, shall be allowed to fish shrimp in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard in total 1080 days pr. calendar year. The total number of vessels and days fishing for shrimp in the fisheries protection zone and on Svalbard's territorial and internal waters, can not exceed the number of vessels and days mentioned in the first paragraph.
With the number of days in the shrimp fishery is the number of days in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard and the Svalbard territorial and internal waters, including the date of active and passive message.

§ 2. Vessels shall participate in fishing for shrimp in the fisheries protection zone around Svalbard, must be registered in advance through notification to the Directorate of Fisheries. Vessels that have been registered for participation in the first paragraph may be replaced by another registered vessel. Such notification about the replacement of vessels must be submitted Fisheries before the replacement vessel commences fishing.
Fisheries may issue further rules on registration under this section.

§ 3 Willful or negligent violation of provisions made in or pursuant to these regulations are subject to penalties and forfeiture under the provisions of § 8 and § 9 of the Act of December 17, 1976. 91 of the Economic Zone.

§ 4. This regulation comes into force immediately.
