Regulations on fishing for shrimp with vessels from Canada in the Svalbard territorial waters and internal waters.

Changes: modified by regulations may 9, 1997 No. 456, 31 aug 2005 Nr. 946. § 1. Up to 2 vessels leading Canadian flag, be given access to fish shrimp in the Svalbard territorial waters and internal waters in a total of 108 24 per calendar year. The total number of vessels and 24 in the fishery for shrimp in territorial waters of Svalbard and inner waters and in the fishing protection zone by Svalbard, to together not exceed the number of vessels and 24 mentioned in the first paragraph.
With the number of 24 in the shrimp fishery is meant the number of 24 in the fishing protection zone by Svalbard and in the Svalbard territorial waters and internal waters including the date of the active-and passive message.
§ 2. Vessels that will participate in fishing for shrimp in the Svalbard territorial waters and internal waters, must already be registered through message to fisheries. Vessels that are registered for participation after the first paragraph, can be replaced with another registered vessels. Such a message about the replacement of vessels must be sent fisheries before the replacement vessel starts to fish.
Fisheries may by regulation provide closer rules on registration under this section.
§ 3. Intentional or negligent violation of provisions given in or pursuant to this regulation is punishable under the provisions of section 4 the second paragraph of the law of 17. July 1925 No. 11 on Svalbard.
§ 4. This Regulation shall enter into force immediately.
