June 1983 Nr. 40 about salt water fishing, etc. § 1, section 4, section 5, section 9, section 26 and section 45. Promoted by the Fisheries Ministry.

§ 1. Scope the regulation applies to Norwegian nationals and persons resident in Norway who runs the fishing with Norwegian vessels in the sea area of the southern hemisphere that are subject to the Convention of 20. May 1980 for the conservation of living marine resources in the Antarctic (Krillkonvensjonen), bounded by the following points of lat/lon grid: 50 ° S, 0 °; 50 ° S, 30 ° e; 45 ° S, 30 ° e; 45 ° S, 80 ° e; 55 ° S, 80 ° e; 55 ° S, 150 ° e; 60 ° S, 150 ° e; 60 ° S, 50 ° V; 50 ° V, 50 ° S, 0 °.

§ 2. Participation it is forbidden to engage in fishing in the area described in section 1, without having obtained permission from the Directorate of fisheries.
The Ministry of fisheries may by regulations provide further provisions on conditions for such permission.

§ 3. Selection of tools and reporting for the sake of the implementation of the resolutions taken by the Commission which is created according to the Krillkonvensjonen article VII, hereinafter called the Commission, fisheries can issue an order for: a) the marking of the vessel's fishing gear and moorings, b) reporting tool, moorings and other objects that undeserved tapes in the sea, c) the reporting of the nature and the number of marine mammals that inadvertently get caught in or with fishing gear.

§ 4. Control measures fisheries may in accordance with the decision taken by the Commission issue an order that the participating vessel to have on board: a) mounted satelittsporingsutstyr b) inspectors and observers.

Fisheries may by regulation establish further provisions that are necessary to achieve a satisfactory control of the fishery.

§ 5. Ban on fishing fisheries may in accordance with the decision taken by the Commission by regulation prohibit the fishing of certain species and in certain areas and stop fishing for Norwegian vessels when the total quota is taken.

section 6. Mask width in the trawl fishery it is forbidden to use the pelagic trawl or bunntrål unless the mask than mentioned above by fishing for the following species: species Notothenia rossii minimum width mask Dissostichus eleginoides,, 120 mm, Notothenia kempi Notothenia gibberifrons, Notothenia squamifros 80 mm it is forbidden to use devices or have a build up of beam cast their masks together or otherwise reduces seleksjonen in the vessel.

section 7. Filing requirements The participating in fishing according to the § 2, has a duty to lead capture diary and within one month after completing the trip to send the diary of fisheries, ref. Regulation of 26. July 1993 No. 772 of the filing requirements for fish and catching vessels.
It should in addition be filled out the Commission's standardized reporting form with the capture, biological data, and the vessel's catch capacity. The form should be sent to the Directorate of fisheries, ref. the first paragraph.

section 8. Regulatory powers fisheries may by regulation establish further provisions that are necessary to achieve an appropriate decommissioning of fishing, including the registration deadline, last utseilings date, maximum quota, etc.

§ 9. Regulations pursuant to The Krillkonvensjonen who participate in fishing according to the § 2, shall comply with the provisions laid down in or pursuant to Krillkonvensjonen.

§ 10. Penalty it as intentionally or negligently contravenes provisions given in or pursuant to this regulation, be punished according to the law of 16. June 1972 No. 57 on the regulation of the participation in the fishing section 11 and the law of 3. June 1983 Nr. 40 about salt water fishing, etc. § 53.

section 11. Entry into force this Regulation shall enter into force immediately.
At the same time repealed regulations of 11. December 1989 Nr. 1225 on fishing with the Norwegian vessels in the Antarctic.
