Established by the Directorate of Labour Inspection 14 November 2002 pursuant to the Act of 7 December 1956 no. 2 on worker § 56 cf. § 5, § 6, § 7, § 15 and § 57, Law of 19 December 1958 No.. 3 concerning working conditions by workers in agriculture § 32, ref. § 4, § 6 and § 7 and the law of 4 February 1977 no. 4 relating to worker protection and working environment etc. § 8, § 9 and § 93 fourth paragraph, cf. . Royal Decree. of 4 June 1982 No.. 959.
Directorate of Labour Inspection adopted 14 November 2002 the following regulations apply to Svalbard:

Regulation of 20 April 1977 no. 9193 on tractors, with the exception of paragraph 1 Instructions etc. for foreign businesses.

Regulations of 18 April 1974 No.. 3 about avalanche danger by living and construction sites.

Regulation of 6 October 1994. 972 on safety signs and signaling in the workplace.
The decision applies from 1 January 2003.
