In Act 4 December 1992 No.. 132 on medicines etc. (Medicines Act) is amended as follows:
§ 2 new second paragraph should read:
Drug may apply reclassified to food if:

medicine is not released to be used to prevent, doctor or alleviate illness, disease symptoms or pain or modifying physiological functions in humans, or by internal or external use to detect disease, and

applicant documents that it is satisfied that the item can be sold as food without danger or inconvenience to consumers' health.

§ 2 new third paragraph should read:
Norwegian Medicines Agency obtains the necessary statements by food authorities and decides whether the documentation requirement in the second paragraph.
Current second, third and fourth paragraphs become new fourth, fifth and sixth paragraphs.
