Article 2. Innovation Award

  • 1 There is an Innovation Award in the field of gay emancipation called the Innovation Award for the Emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

  • 2 The Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals can be awarded once in the two years to a person, a group or institution committed or recently deployed to an inspiring event. activity to improve the position of homosexuals in society.

  • 3 The prize consists of a cash amount of € 1,000 and an art object.


Article 3. Award

  • 1 The award of the Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people is made by the Minister.

  • 2 Before reaching the prize the Minister shall obtain the opinion of the jury set up for the 'Jos Brink homo emancipate Prize'.

In addition to Article 2, third paragraph, of the Appointment Decision Jos Brink's gay emancipation prize In addition, the Selection Board shall be responsible for the selection of candidates in accordance with the rules and the selection criteria contained in the present rules. In a press release, the Minister informs that interested parties may propose to the jury for a given date about possible candidates for the Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.


Article 6. Jury procedure

In adopting its opinion, the Selection Board shall proceed in accordance with the procedure laid down in Article 5 of the Appointment Decision Jos Brink's gay emancipation prize .


Article 7. Opinion

  • 1 The Minister shall inform the Selection Board as soon as possible after receipt of the written opinion of the Selection Board, or he/she shall be able to reconcile himself with this opinion.

  • 2 If the Minister cannot unite with the opinion or have expressed the nominee not for the award of the Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. In order to arrive, the Minister may ask the jury to issue a new opinion.

  • 1 For the award of the Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, it cannot be nominated:

    • a. A person, group or institution which has already received the homosexual emancipation prize by the Jos Brink homo-emancipation prize,

    • b. a person, group or institution awarded to the Jos Brink homo emancipation prize the year in question,

    • (c) a person who is a member of the jury,

    • d. a person, group or institution that has received grant from the Empire through which the proposed activity is funded.

  • 2 Candidates can be pre-worn only with life.

  • 3 The Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons cannot be split.


Article 10. Distribution

  • 1 The awarding of the Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people is also taking place with that of the Jos Brink homo emancipation prize.

  • 2 The award will take place for the first time in the first half of the year 2011.

The Articles 12 to 15 of the decision of jury Jos Brink homo emancipate shall be applied mutatis mutandis to the work of the jury at the Innovation Award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons.

Annex-Selection criteria for the innovation award for the emancipation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people

  • 1. The formal criterion: has recently initiated an inspiring activity to promote the social acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Dutch society and/or beyond and with it. LGBT emancipation process.

  • 2. The contribution relates to a topic that is important in or for the LGBT movement.

  • 3. The prize is an encouragement to a person, group or institution that has been inspiring and committed to the LGBT emancipation process in an inspiring manner. The price serves to encourage this sample function to continue.

  • 4. An inspiring activity can be understood as:

    • -a pioneering initiative;

    • -inspiring for others;

    • -innovative;

    • -an example to others that should be emulated;

    • -an activity that proves courage and courage;

    • -an initiative with a promising character or a special result.
