WHEREAS IT is provided by clause (2) of article 109 of the Constitution that Parliament may from time to time by law vary the rate of grant according to the number of people that can be found in part I of the Tenth Schedule to the Constitution: and that in accordance with clause (4) (b) of article 159 of the Constitution any amendment to the Constitution of the incidental to or arising from the exercise of any power to make laws granted to Parliament by any provisions of the Constitution , in addition to Article 74 and 76, are exempted from the provisions of clause (3) of article 159: SO, therefore, IT ENACTED by the Parliament of Malaysia as follows: short title and commencement 1. (1) this Act may be cited as the Act Giving according to the number of persons in 2002.
(2) this Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 January 2002.
Laws of Malaysia ACT 6226 Tenth Schedule part I Amendments to the Federal Constitution 2. Subsection 1 (1) of part I of the Tenth Schedule to the Federal Constitution is amended by substituting paragraph (a), (b), (c) and (d) with the following paragraph: "(a) for the first 100,000 people according to the rate of 72.00 for every person;
(b) for the 500,000 people the next according to the rate of 10.20 for every person;
(c) for the 500,000 people the next according to the rate of 10.80 for every person;
(d) for the rest according to the rate of 11.40 every person, ".
