Emergency medical assistance service (hereinafter service) is the Minister of Health's direct regulatory authority. 2. the aim is to implement a uniform national policy for emergency medical and disaster medicine. 4.7. ensuring cooperation with other emergency and disaster relief services involved;
4.8. to plan and coordinate action in the public health and public health emergencies;
4.9. to ensure the coordination of the World Health Organisation point function of the international health regulations;
4.10. to ensure the European Union's RACIAL-BICH (Biological and chemical terrorism early warning system) system and the functions of the contact point in Latvia;

4.15. to train first aid trainers;
4.16. to issue, suspend or revoke the educational institution or tutor certificate, which allows training in first aid;
4.17 to plan and organize emergency medical and emergency public health situations workout training, and participate in, as well as organize practical training in first aid and emergency medical care;
4.18. to participate in regional, national and international civil protection training, disaster and crisis prevention and management planning and practical training;
4.19. materiāltehnisko to plan resources for emergency medical assistance;
4.20. ensure operational medical reserve building, maintenance and restoration, as well as to monitor their use;

4.27. to inform the public of emergency medical assistance and preventive measures in public health;
4.28. in accordance with the competency to deal with natural or legal persons complaints, applications and proposals;
4.29. perform other legal tasks. 5. Has the following rights: 5.1. legislation and in accordance with the procedure laid down in the case, to request and receive, free of charge from State and local institutions and authorities the task of treatment required for the implementation of the information and documents, as well as to ask individuals to provide professional tasks required for the implementation of the information and documents;
