Regulation No 1078 of "genetically modified organism risk assessment methodology" (Latvian journal, 2008, no. 201) the following amendments: 1. Express the point 2 as follows: "2. the genetically modified organisms for the risk assessment, the goal is to identify and assess their possible harmful direct and indirect effects, immediate or delayed, on human and animal health or the environment, which can lead to certain genetically modified organisms into the environment or market. "
2. Delete paragraph 3.
3. Supplement point 4 with the second sentence as follows: "based on the environmental risk assessment, appropriate risk management measures and methods to be used."
4. Express 5.2. subparagraph by the following: "5.2 describe the State of the environment or environmental base line before the proliferation of genetically modified organisms in the environment, while still not identified any (harmful) characteristics of the genetically modified organism. The base line is a point of reference with which to compare future changes that may lead to the proliferation of genetically modified organisms into the environment or the market. The base line is dependent on the receiving environment, including biotic and abiotic factors (e.g., saved natural ecological environment, biodiversity, agricultural land or contaminated land), or various combinations of environmental conditions. If the intended dissemination of genetically modified organisms on the market, describes the environmental base line, which is genetically modified organisms will be distributed (to grow); ".
5. Supplement 5.6. subparagraph after the word "specify" with the words "genetically modified organisms".
6. Supplement with 11.7. subparagraph by the following: "7.3. it produces effects on biodiversity."
