Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 675 Riga 2010 (27 July. No 38. § 12) rules on border checks and border surveillance requires technical means issued in accordance with the State border of the Republic of Latvia Law 29 of the second paragraph of article 1. border checks and border surveillance is determined to carry out the necessary technical means.
2. Border checks the technical means used by people, vehicles, rail vehicles, aircraft, and vessels and their movable goods and other goods checks at border crossing points are: primary documents 2.1 inspection equipment – border crossing points and the people in the vehicle documents, and other supporting documents of the national examination in person and for verification of the documents presented for identification: 2.1.1 and document the Visual and automated coded data reading and inspection devices;
2.1.2. the optical magnification devices with lighting;
2.1.3. the different wavelength illumination devices;
2.2. the document of advanced test equipment – border crossing points and the people in the vehicle documents, and other supporting documents of entitlement for in-depth inspection to confirm and visualize the primary examination found signs of fraud: 2.2.1. document Visual and coded data automated inspection devices;
2.2.2. the microscope with digital cameras;
2.2.3. the komparator videospektrāl;
2.2.4. the instrument and Accessories Kit;
2.3. personal biometric data input and processing machines – verification and identification of the persons or registering under the biometric data;
2.4. the primary vehicle inspection equipment, vehicles, aircraft, vessels, rail transport and freight transported for examination: 2.4.1. mirrors;
2.4.2. the lamp;
2.5. the in-depth inspection equipment, vehicles, aircraft, vessels, rail transport and goods carried for in-depth inspection to confirm the primary examination for signs of irregularities found: 2.5.1. determination of the presence of living creatures;
2.5.2. the hidden and locked the volume detection and inspection devices;
2.5.3. the heterogeneity of the metal detection devices;
2.6. video surveillance systems – border crossing point mode control and motor number automatically for reading and recognition;
2.7. the fixed and portable radiation control equipment – State border crossing of persons, vehicles, cargoes and other goods radiometric inspection;
2.8. fixed and portable metal, explosives, drugs detection equipment (tester) – State border crossing of persons, vehicles, cargoes and other goods.
3. Enhancing the technical means used by the State border, the border zone and border control arrangements, the territorial sea and internal waters, are: 3.1. presence detection system for the detection of robežpārkāpum-characteristics, the location of the trespasser area detection, and detection of the State border and the border zone in the border area, the territorial sea and internal waters: 3.1.1. area monitoring and motion detection system;
3.1.2. the perimeter (sites) detention facilities;
3.2. surveillance equipment – State border, in the border zone and border control, Visual robežpārkāpum, trespasser detection location detection area – day and night optical and optical-electronic portable, stationary and mobile surveillance equipment;
3.3. enhancing border management systems, human resources planning, information exchange and technical systems of data collection, reflection, observation of the situation, as well as the border guard assignments driving system;
3.4. the navigation device – secondment of border guards, land vehicles, vessels, aircraft, and the landmark location and orientation in the locality;
3.5. vehicles, border guards for moving personnel assignments, patrolling, the persecution of the trespasser, to detention and transfer, the State border infrastructure maintenance: 3.5.1 passenger cars;
3.5.2. the bus;
3.5.3. quadricycles;
3.5.4. snowmobiles;
3.5.5. motorcycles;
3.5.6. bicycles;
3.5.7. implements;
3.5.8. trailers and semi-trailers;
3.6. vessels, ship, boat and motor used in the border sea and territorial sea, internal waters, the detection of the offenders, prosecution, detention and displacement;
3.7. aircraft – helicopters, used the State border, the border zone and border control arrangements, the border sea, territorial sea and internal waters, searching for a trespasser, persecution, detention, and transfer.
4. Border checks and border surveillance of the use of electronic communications networks and terminal communication and exchange of information between the national border guard units, border guard assignments, some officials and institutions, as well as the cooperation of persons, vehicles, the document to check the data for information systems (registers).

8. Be declared unenforceable in the Cabinet of Ministers of 21 May 2002 No. 195 of rules "rules on border checks for the necessary equipment and technical equipment" (Latvian journal, 2002, no. 82; 2004, nr. 140; 2005, no. 33).
