Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 787 in 2005 October 25 (Mon. No 61 6. §) rules, arrangements for prize money to be awarded for outstanding achievements in sports, and the amount of prize money Issued in accordance with article 14 of the law of Sport, the second part of rule 1 shall determine the order in which the Latvian athletes, their coaches, athletes sports staff servicing, including sports physicians, service staff and the relevant sports management recognised sports federations awarded cash prizes for outstanding achievements in sports (hereinafter referred to as a cash prize) and the amount of prize money.
2. The prize money, the view of the Latvian National Sports Council proposal, not less than twice a year, the Cabinet of Ministers granted.
3. in order to receive prize money, sports administration recognized sports federations shall submit an application in the management of Sport. The application shall be accompanied by documents certifying the outstanding achievement in sport, and the prize money for the granting of the necessary information (annex). Sports administration collect submissions and submit it for consideration in the National Sports Council.
4. Prize money is awarded for achievement, presented in the official competition of the international field which are included in the respective International Sports Federation race calendar, if the Federation is recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) or the international sports federations (GAISF) in the General Assembly. The following competitions are: 4.1 Olympic Games;
4.2. world or European Championships for adults (including handicapped);
4.3. the world or European Championships for athletes aged 16 to 23gad (bobsled to 26 years) (including handicapped);
4.4. world sports games of soldiers, the Police Championships and Universiade;
4.5. World Cup (or European Cup, the sport's World Cup not happening) is over adult (standings);
4.6. the Paralympics.
5. the National Sports Council, developing a proposal on the allocation of the prize money, assessed the significance of the race, a race who participated in a number of countries and athletes or team.
6. Sports Administration is entitled to require from the applicant the additional information required.
7. Olympic athletes in individual sports and disciplines award the prize money amounting (after payment of taxes): 7.1 for the Olympics for: 7.1.1. first place — up to 100000 dollars;
7.1.2. second place — up to 50000 dollars;
7.1.3. third place — up to 30000 dollars;
7.1.4. in the fourth place, up to 15000 dollars;
7.1.5. the fifth place — up to 10000 lat;
7.1.6. sixth place — up to 5000 lats;
7.2. for the World Championships for adults: 7.2.1. in the first place — up to 20000 lats;
7.2.2. second place — up to 10000 lat;
7.2.3. third place — up to 5000 lats;
7.3. for the European Championships for adults: 7.3.1. in the first place — up to 10000 lat;
7.3.2. second place — 6000 lats;
7.3.3. third place — up to 3000 lats;
7.4. for the world sports games of soldiers, police and universiād acquired the Championship: 7.4.1. first place — up to 5000 lats;
7.4.2. second place — up to 3000 lats;
7.4.3. third place — up to 1000 lats;
7.5. the world or European Cup in adults (standings): 7.5.1. obtained in the first place — up to 10000 lat;
7.5.2. second place — up to 5000 lats;
7.5.3. third place — up to 3000 lats.
8. Olympic Sports national sports sample athletes, their coaches, athletes in sports staff servicing, including the sports doctors service staff (total) awarded prize money amounting (after payment of taxes): 8.1 for the Olympics get: 8.1.1. first place — up to 300000 dollars;
8.1.2. second place — up to 200000 dollars;
8.1.3. third place — up to 100000 dollars;
8.1.4. fourth place — up to 50000 dollars;
8.1.5. fifth place — up to 40000 dollars;
8.1.6. sixth place — up to 30000 dollars;
8.2. for the World Championships for adults: 8.2.1. in the first place — up to 200000 dollars;
8.2.2. second place — up to 100000 dollars;
8.2.3. third place — up to 50000 dollars;
8.3. European Championships for adults: 8.3.1. first place — up to 100000 dollars;
8.3.2. second place — up to 50000 dollars;
8.3.3. third place — up to 30000 dollars;
8.4. soldiers of the world sports games, police Championship and universiād acquired: 8.4.1. in the first place — up to 25000 lats;
8.4.2. second place — up to 15000 dollars;
8.4.3. third place — up to 10000 dollars.
9. not Olympic athletes in individual sports and disciplines award the prize money amounting (after payment of taxes): 9.1 the complex sports competitions (if they happen more frequently than once every four years) acquired: 9.1.1. first place — up to 20000 lats;
9.1.2. second place — up to 10000 lat;
9.1.3. third place — up to 5000 lats;
9.1.4. fourth place — 3000 lats;
9.1.5. fifth place — up to 2000 lats;
9.1.6. sixth place — up to 1000 lats;
9.2. for the World Championships for adults: 9.2.1. first place — up to 15000 dollars;
9.2.2. in the second place, up to 7000 lats;
9.2.3. third place — up to 3000 lats;
9.3. for the European Championships for adults: 9.3.1. first place — up to 7000 lats;
9.3.2. second place — up to 4000 lats;
9.3.3. third place — up to 2000 lats;
9.4. for the world or European Cup in adults (standings) acquired: 9.4.1 the first place — 6000 lats;
9.4.2. second place — up to 3000 lats;
9.4.3. third place — up to 1500 pounds.
10. non-Olympic sports National Games-sport athletes, their coaches, athletes in sports staff servicing, including the sports doctors service staff (total) awarded prize money amounting (after payment of taxes): 10.1 the complex sports competitions (if they happen more frequently than once every four years): 10.1.1. earned first place — up to 80000 lats;
10.1.2. second place — up to 60000 dollars;
10.1.3. third place — up to 40000 dollars;
10.1.4. fourth place — up to 20000 lats;
10.1.5. fifth place — up to 15000 dollars;
10.1.6. sixth place — up to 10000 lat;
10.2. for the World Championships for adults: 10.2.1. in the first place — up to 75000 lats;
10.2.2. second place — up to 45000 lats;
10.2.3. third place — up to 25000 lats;
10.3. the European Championships for adults: 10.3.1. in the first place — up to 45000 lats;
10.3.2. second place — up to 25000 lats;
10.3.3. third place — up to 12500 lats.
11. The athletes up to 23 years of age on the world or European Championships for space not in individual Olympic sports and disciplines award the prize money amounting (after payment of taxes): 11.1. for first place — 3000 lats;
11.2. for second place — up to 2000 lats;
11.3. for third place — up to 1000 dollars.
12. the non-Olympic Sports national sports sample athletes to 23gad, their trainers, athletes sports staff servicing, including the sports doctors service staff (total) on the site of the world or European Championships awarded prize money amounting to: 12.1 for first place — up to 10000 lat;
12.2 for second place — up to 7000 lats;
12.3. for third place — up to 5000 dollars.
13. in order to promote the sport and youth sport program development, the Olympic sport of Team Sports Federation awarded prize money amounting to: UR13.1.par the national sample participation in Olympic Games-up to 100000 dollars;
UR13.2.par the national sample participation in world championships for adults up to 75000 pounds of finālsacensīb;
random UR13.3.par on the participation of the national championships for adults finālsacensīb — up to 50000 dollars;
13.4. for athletes under the age of 23 years, participation in the national sample: 13.4.1. World Championships — up to 20000 finālsacensīb lats;
13.4.2. European Championships-finālsacensīb-up to 15000 dollars.
14. to promote the sport and youth sport program development, not an Olympic sport sports team Federation awarded prize money amounting to: 14.1. the participation of the national sample of complete sports competitions that take place no more than once every four years, up to 50000 dollars;
14.2. the participation of the national sample of adult finālsacensīb World Championships — up to 30000 dollars;
14.3. the participation of the national sample of adults European Championship finālsacensīb-up to 20000 lats;
14.4. for athletes under the age of 23 years, participation in the national sample: 14.4.1. World Championships-finālsacensīb to 10000 lat;
14.4.2. European Championships-finālsacensīb up to 7000 lats.
15. Athletes aged 16 to 23 years (bobsled – up to 26 years) about the world or European Championships for space in the individual Olympic sports and disciplines award the prize money amounting (after payment of taxes): 15.1 for first place — 6000 lats;
15.2. for second place — up to 4000 lats;
15.3. third place — up to 2000 lats.
16. The Olympic sport of sports gaming State sample athletes aged 16 to 23 years (bobsled – up to 26 years), their trainers, athletes sports staff servicing, including the sports doctors service staff (total) on the site of the world or European Championships awarded prize money amounting to: 16.1. for first place — up to 20000 lats;
16.2. second place — up to 15000 dollars;
16.3. third place — up to 10000 dollars.

17. the athlete's coach (Trainer), athletes in sports staff servicing, including the sports doctors service staff (total) prize money allocated to 50% of those rules that one athlete or team prize money about.
18. in order to promote the sport and youth sport program development, the Cabinet of Ministers of sports and disciplines the individual izcīnītaj this rule 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3. the places referred to in subparagraph may be granted to the relevant Sports Federation prize money up to 25000 pounds.
19. Cash prizes used for Ministry of education and science subprogramme "awards for excellence in sports" for the State budget and other State budget, when it adopted the decision according to the law on budget and financial management.
20. Sports Federation, which received the prize money according to these rules, shall be published in the newspaper "journal" review of financial resources allocated to it.
21. Be declared unenforceable in the Cabinet of 22 April 2003, the Regulation No 194 "the procedure for the granting of cash prizes for outstanding achievements in sports, and the amount of prize money" (Latvian journal, 2003, nr. 63; 2004, nr. 148).
