The Minister shall have the following functions: to provide uniform 3.1 public policy development and implementation in the context of the development of civil society, racial and ethnic discrimination, the eradication of all forms of discrimination against the cross-sectoral issues and promote tolerance in society, support minorities and non-governmental organisations, culture and traditions of the Liv, Latvian diaspora support and its societies, associations and centres, as well as access to integration programmes for immigrants;
3.2. competence to organize the legislative projects, within the European Union, as well as international agreements binding for Latvia;
3.3. to represent national interests in international organisations and international activities related to the scope, as well as to participate in the development cooperation policy development and implementation;
3.4. to cooperate with interested foreign institutions, as well as the appropriate competence and legislation specific to the mandate to conclude international agreements and participate in their development;
3.5. in accordance with the competence to coordinate national and regional administrative bodies and local public administration authorities;
3.6. ensuring that adequate competency to provide opinions on the other institutions the law drawn up projects;
3.7. to develop proposals and submit the requests for State budget allocations in areas related to the development of civil society, racial and ethnic discrimination, the eradication of all forms of discrimination against the cross-sectoral issues and promote tolerance in society, support minorities and non-governmental organisations, culture and traditions of the Liv, Latvian diaspora support and access to integration programmes for immigrants, as well as to organize the national budget funds are used for the intended purposes and ensure that use control;
3.8. in accordance with the competency to provide public information and education. 4. the Minister is entitled to: 4.1 according to competence to request and receive the necessary information and documents from the ministries, local authorities and other State bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations;
4.2. create an Advisory Council, the Commission or the Working Group and, if necessary, involve them in the work of the Ministry and other institutions, as well as others, to promote and coordinate the integration of the society;
4.3. the Cabinet of Ministers created to participate in councils dealing with the issues related to the integration of the society;
4.4. subordinated authorities to approve the work plans, annual reports and public budget requests for the next budgetary year;
4.5. to appoint special task Minister for society integration Affairs Secretariat and institutions subordinated to the Minister of the managers;
4.6. in accordance with the competence to issue orders, instructions and recommendations;
4.7. to give instructions to the subordinated to the head of the national regulatory authorities;
