The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendment to the law "on holidays, Memorial days and celebrated" make law "on holidays, Memorial days and celebrated" (Republic of Latvia Supreme Council and Government Informant, 1990, no. 42; The Saeima of the Republic of Latvia and the Cabinet of Ministers rapporteur, 1995, nr. 10, 22; 1997, nr. 3, 13; in 1998, 1., no. 15; 2000, 7, no. 12; 2002, no. 9; 2007, no. 13) following amendment: Add to article 2 after the number and the words "august 21 — constitutional law" on the national status of the Republic of Latvia "and the actual Republic of Latvia independence day" with a number and the words "august 23 — Stalinism and Nazism's victims Memorial Day".
The Parliament adopted the law of 16 July 2009.
In place of the President of the parliamentary President G. Lot in Riga 2009. on 21 July, the Editorial Note: the law shall enter into force on august 4, 2009.
