The Saeima has adopted and the President promulgated the following laws: the amendment of the electronic media law in the electronic media Act (Latvian journal, 2010, 2011, 118 no; no 103) following amendment: Express transitional provisions in paragraph 3 by the following: "3. The national radio and Television Council members under the radio and television law, elected before the date of entry into force of the law, continues to serve as the national electronic media Council members until the expiry of the to which they were elected under the radio and television law, as well as by the end of this period, until a new national electronic media Council composition to create a full, but not longer than until 1 February 2012. These conditions on the national electronic media Council the extension of the term of Office is not extended to the case where the national electronic media Council Member's term of office expires pursuant to this law, 59. the second paragraph of article 1, paragraph 3 or 4 of the conditions. "
The law shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation.
The Parliament adopted the law in 2011 on September 8.
