BEING THE DISTRICT OF THE YAPEN ARCHIPELAGO OF PAPUA PROVINCE

WITH THE GRACE OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD

PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA,

.,, weighed: a. that Yapen Waropen County was created with Law Number 12 of the Year 1969 on the Establishment of the West Irian Autonomous Province and the Autonomous County of West Irian Propinsi;

., b. that in the development of the government in Yapen Waropen Regency there are aspirations of the Yapen Waropen Regency people who want change of the name of Yapen Waropen Regency into Yapen Islands Regency;

., c. that the name change was proposed by the regent of Yapen Waropen to the Regional People's Representative Council of the Yapen Waropen Regency with a letter Number 060 /113/SET dated 15 March 2004 and has obtained the approval of the Regional People's Representative Council. Yapen Waropen Regency as amended in Decree of the People's Representative Council of the District of Yapen Waropen Number 8/KPTS/PIMP/DPRD/YW/2004 dated 9 August 2004 on the Approval Change of the Regency Name of Yapen Waropen became Regency Yapen Islands;

., d. that under consideration as intended in the letter a, letter b, and the letter c, and in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of the paragraph (2) of the Law No. 32 of 2004 on the Local Government, need to establish the Government Regulation on Change The Name Of The Grand Duchy Of Waropen Was The District Of The Grand Duchy Of Papua New Guinea.

.,, Setting: A GOVERNMENT REGULATION ON THE CHANGE OF NAME OF THE YAPEN WAROPEN COUNTY TO THE COUNTY OF THE YAPEN ARCHIPELAGO OF PAPUA PROVINCE.

.,, (1) The terms of the administrative adjustment time of the name change as referred to in Article 1 of the longest 1 (one) year count since the Regulation of this Government are promultable.

.,, (2) During the administrative adjustment time as referred to in paragraph (1), the name of Yapen Waropen Regency can be used together with the name of the Yapen Islands Regency in the holding of local government.

.,, (3) The government of the Yapen Islands Regency along with the Regional People ' s Representative Council of the Yapen Islands Regency organizes the socialization of the name change of the Yapen Islands Regency.

.,, Yapen Waropen County is an autonomous region as referred to in the 2004 32 Year Act on the Local Government (Indonesian Republic of 2004) Number 125, Additional Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4437), as amended by Law No. 8 Year 2005 on Establishing Government Regulation Replacement Rule Number 3 Year 2005 on Change of Law No. 32 Year 2004 on Local Government Being Law (sheet of state of the Republic of Indonesia in 2005 Number 108, Extra Sheet) Republic of Indonesia No. 4548).

.,, Yapen Waropen County, which was formed under Law Number 12 of the Year 1969 on the Establishment of the West Irian Autonomous Province and the Autonomous County of West Irian Province (State of the Republic of Indonesia in 1969 No. 47, Indonesia's Republic of Indonesia Number 2907), in its development there is a aspiration of Yapen Waropen Regency people who want a change of name from Yapen Waropen Regency into Yapen Islands Regency. The wish of the name change to the Yapen Islands Regency was formed by the establishment of the Waropen Autonomous County as the exchange of the Yapen Waropen Regency under Law No. 26 of 2002, so that it would not happen. Duplicate names need to be reviewed by the name changes in Yapen Waropen Regency to the Yapen Islands Regency, in addition to that geographically a region consisting of the island cluster.

., based on the aspirations of the people of the Yapen Waropen County, the Regent Yapen Waropen by letter Number: 060 /113/SET dated 15 March 2004 to the Yapen Waropen County District People's Representative Council delivered a change of approval name of the Yapen Waropen Regency became the Yapen Islands County. The People's Representative Council of the Grand Duchy of the Grand Duchy has given the approval of the name of Yapen Waropen Regency name to the Yapen Islands Regency by decree of the People's Representative Council of the District of Yapen Waropen No. 8/KPTS/PIMP/DPRD/YW/2004 on August 9, 2004 on the Approval Change of Yapen Waropen County became the Yapen Islands Regency.
