§ 1 Legal status

The German Red Cross e. V. is the National Society of the Red Cross in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany and the voluntary relief agency of the German authorities in the humanitarian field. § 2 Tasks

(1) The German Red Cross e. V., as a voluntary subsidiary, performs the tasks resulting from the Geneva Red Cross Conventions of 1949 and its Additional Protocols, in particular:

1.

the assistance of the Bundeswehr's medical service within the meaning of Article 26 of the Geneva Convention, including the use of military vessels in accordance with Article 24 of the II. Geneva Convention,

2.

the dissemination of knowledge of international humanitarian law, as well as the principles and ideals of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and the support of the Federal Government in this regard,

3.

the performance of the duties of an official information office in accordance with Article 122 of the III. Geneva Convention and Article 136 of the IV. Geneva Convention,

4.

the placement of correspondence under the conditions laid down in Article 25 (2) of the IV. Geneva Convention and the perception of the search service referred to in Article 26 of the IV. The Geneva Convention and Article 33 (3) and Article 74 of the Additional Protocol.

(2) The German Red Cross shall be awarded the German Red Cross for the tasks referred to in paragraph 1 (3). V. within the framework of the budgetary resources available in the federal budget in each case according to § 44 of the Federal Budget Regulations and the administrative provisions and secondary provisions adopted for this purpose. § 3 Protection of the character and the designations

The right to use the sign "Red Cross on a White ground" and the designations "Red Cross" and "Geneva Cross" is the name of the German Red Cross. V. It is not entitled to prohibit a descriptive use of the character and the designations for third parties if it is not suitable to question the assignment according to sentence 1. The rights of other organizations of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement remain unaffected.

§ 4 Legal status

The Johanniter accident help e. V. and the Malteser Hilfsdienst e. V. are voluntary aid companies within the meaning of Article 26 of the Geneva Convention. Unofficial table of contents

§ 5 Tasks

The Johanniter accident help e. V. and the Malteser Hilfsdienst e. V. are authorized to support the Federal Armed Forces ' Sanity Service. The Johanniter accident help e. V. and the Malteser Hilfsdienst e. V. also carry out the tasks assigned to them by federal law or national law.
