§ 1 Name, legal form and seat of the Foundation

Under the name "Stiftung Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland" (Stiftung Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland), a legally competent federal direct foundation under public law, based in Bonn, will be established. The Foundation can give itself a name supplement through its statutes. Unofficial table of contents

§ 2 Purpose of the Foundation

(1) The purpose of the Foundation is to promote the following:
1.
research with a focus on the fields of historical, cultural, economic and social sciences in selected countries and
2.
the mutual understanding between Germany and these countries.
The foundation maintains German research institutes (institutes) in the respective host country and promotes preparatory and accompanying activities, in particular projects. (2) The institutes are within the framework of the Foundation's statutes. self-employed entities that are independent in their scientific work. They are to conduct their own research, thereby promoting cooperation between the German humanities and the humanities of the host country, in particular by

Publications,
2.
scientific events such as exhibitions, colloquia and conferences,
3.
scientific information and advice, and the teaching of scientific contacts and

Promotion of young researchers, especially by awarding scholarships.

§ 3 Foundation assets

(1) In order to fulfil the Foundation's purpose, the Foundation shall receive an annual grant from the Federal Government in accordance with the respective Federal Budget Act. (2) The Foundation shall be entitled to accept funds from third parties. Acceptance may be effected only if there are no obligations which affect the performance of the Foundation's purpose. (3) Income of the Foundation's assets and other income may only be used for the purpose of the purpose of the foundation. § 4 Statute

§ 6 Board of Trustees

(1) The Board of Trustees consists of eleven members appointed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for a term of office of four years. The following are called:
1.
two members who are appointed by the federal government,
2.
a member of the Board of Trustees, appointed by the Board of Trustees,
3.
seven members designated by the statutes, in particular scientific organisations, by the bodies set out in the Statute; and
4.
a member designated by the organisation of the economy as defined in the Statute.
Only scientists or scientists may be appointed as members in accordance with the second sentence of the second sentence of 2 and 3. The members of the Foundation shall represent the scientific breadth of the entire Foundation in accordance with the second sentence of the second sentence. The members can only be reappointed once again. § 7 Procedure of the Board of Trustees

(1) The Board of Trustees shall, as a rule, decide in meetings convened by the Chairman or Chairpersons as required, but at least once a year. (2) At the meetings of the Board of Trustees, two members of the Board of Directors, two members of the Assembly of the Chairmen of the Advisory Board, shall take the place of the meeting. the managing director or the managing director as well as a representative of the staff and of the scientific staff members as permanent guests with a right of application and a right of remission. By statute, further persons may be admitted for participation. (3) The Board of Trustees is quorum if at least half of the members are present or represented. § 8 General Assembly

(1) The Assembly shall be composed of the Directors of the Institutes. § 9 Directors and Directors of the Institutes

(1) The Board of Trustees appoints a person to the director or director for each institution on a proposal from the Scientific Advisory Board (§ 10). The person is responsible for the institution. § 10 Scientific Advisory Boards of the Institutes

(1) A Scientific Advisory Board shall be appointed for each institution. He has up to nine members. Employees of the institutions may not belong to him. The members of a Scientific Advisory Board are also to be members of foreign scientists. (2) The Board of Trustees convenes the members of the Scientific Advisory Board for four years. One-off revocation in a row shall be permitted. The Scientific Advisory Board is to be heard before appeals. (3) Each Scientific Advisory Board advises the Institute for which it has been appointed and the Board of Trustees in matters of this Institute on scientific issues. § 11 voluntary activity

§ 12 Management

§ 13 Office

§ 14 Supervision, Auditing

(1) The Foundation is subject to the legal supervision of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. § 15 Employees

(1) The employment and training conditions of the employees and trainees of the Foundation shall be subject to the collective agreements and other provisions applicable to the employees and trainees of the Federal Government. (2) The Articles of Association may include: Approval of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the approval of the Staff Committee by way of derogation from § 91 (1) (2) of the Federal Personnel Representation Act for the election of the main personnel council to the structural characteristics of the Foundation adapted regulations. § 16 Reporting

The Foundation shall submit a publicly available report, at the latest every two years, on its activities and projects.
