By order of the Minister of Labour, Employment and Health dated December 21, 2011, the anonymous national classifying examinations giving access to the third cycle of medical studies for the 2012-2013 academic year are organized in the following manner:
The registration period is 1 to 31 March 2012.
The trials take place simultaneously on the following boarding divisions: Bordeaux, Lille, Marseille, Paris, Dijon, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, according to the following schedule:
- first test: May 30, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.;
- second and third round: May 31, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.;
― critical reading test of scientific article: June 1, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In the event of a postponement of a trial, the trial will take place on 1 June, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
A decree of ministers responsible for health and higher education determines the number of places offered and their distribution by discipline and subdivision.
Last year students of the second cycle of medical studies, mentioned in second paragraph of Article 1 of Decree No. 2004-67 of 16 January 2004 modified for the organization of the third cycle of medical studies, are registered in full law by the training and research units of medical schools.
Medical internals and auditors may request participation in national classifying tests under and under conditions established by the provisions of Article 7 of Decree No. 2004-67 of 16 January 2004 modified for the organization of the third cycle of medical studies. They are required to make their intention known by registered letter to the Dean of their attachment faculty, who makes registrations, by March 31, 2012 at the latest.
Medical faculty training and research units will be sent to the National Management Centre:
– by April 7, 2012, the roster of candidates enrolled in the trials;
for July 11, 2012 at the latest, date of the plenary session of the jury, the validation files of the second cycle trainings of their students;
―by 31 July 2012 the files of the students who have requested the passage to the commission provided for in 2° of Article 7 of the Decree of 16 January 2004 concerning the organization of the third cycle of medical studies.
Implementation third paragraph of Article 1 of Decree No. 2004-67 of 16 January 2004 modified on the organization of the third cycle of medical studies, medical students at the end of studies of the second cycle of medical studies, nationals of the Member States of the European Union, the Swiss Confederation, the Principality of Andorra or the States parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area may ask to participate in the national classifying examinations.
They file a registration file with the following documents:
1° A registration form, duly informed, dated and signed;
2° A copy of the national identity card or document taking place;
3° A certificate issued by the official of the student's original institution certifying that the student is in the final year of the second cycle of medical studies or a copy of the graduate degree of the second cycle of medical studies or equivalent title, in accordance with Article 24 of Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional qualifications, established under the academic year 2011-2012.
Records, to be sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, must be sent by 31 March 2012, the stamp of the position being authentic, to the following address:
Centre national de gestion, département concours, autorisation d'exercice, mobilité-development professionnelle, unit des concours médical nationaux, ECN, building Le Ponant B, 21, rue Leblanc, 75015 Paris.
The 3° document must be written in French or, if not, be accompanied by a translation by a sworn translator. It is issued by the competent authorities or bodies, certifying that this training is in accordance with the provisions of Article 24 of Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 7 September 2005 on recognition of professional qualifications.
Any file that is incomplete or sent after the registration closing date is deemed inadmissible.

In order to be able to participate in the national selection procedure organized under the provisions of the amended Order of 19 May 2005, setting out the modalities for the organization of the national discipline selection procedure and the university relocation hospital after the anonymous national classifying examinations giving access to the third cycle of medical studies, students are required to address the equivalent national center of management, for 11 July 2012, the copy of the medical diploma of the second cycle of medical studiesArticle 1 of Decree No. 2004-67 of 16 January 2004 modified for the organization of the third cycle of medical studies.
Registration to participate in the national mail selection procedure is made online. Students connect to the website: www.cng.sante.fr, headings: "competitions and examinations", "competitions and examinations giving access to the 3rd cycle of medical, odontology and pharmaceutical studies", "national class tests giving access to the 3rd cycle of medical studies". They follow the procedure described and get an identifier and password that will allow them to make their choice.
Implementation provisions of Article 8 of Decree No. 2004-67 of 16 January 2004 modified for the organization of the third cycle of medical studies, candidates prevented from participating in the national classifying examinations resulting from maternity, paternity or adoption leave, a case of force majeure or for duly justified medical reasons, are required to apply to the National Management Centre, no later than eight days after the examination, for a deferral of right to compete with supporting documents.
Candidates with the quality of persons with disabilities can apply for specific arrangements to compete. In this case, they will have to apply to the National Management Centre, together with the following:
- copy of the document giving them the quality of persons with disabilities;
― the certificate issued by the doctor of the Departmental House of Persons with Disabilities from their place of residence which must specify the duration of the additional time to be granted and the special arrangements to be made available to the person concerned.
