Vu le Decree No. 95-796 of 14 June 1995 issuing the second protocol amending the convention on the reduction of cases of plurality of nationalities and military obligations in the event of a plurality of nationalities, signed in Strasbourg on 2 February 1993,
Decrete:
The denunciation of chapter I of the convention on the reduction of cases of plurality of nationalities and on military obligations in the event of plurality of nationalities, signed in Strasbourg on 6 May 1963, and of the second protocol amending the convention on the reduction of cases of plurality of nationalities and on military obligations in the event of plurality of nationalities, signed in Strasbourg on 2 February 1993, will be published in the Official Gazette of the French Republic.
The Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs are responsible for the execution of this decree, which will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.

Mr. Secretary General,
Referring to the terms of the agreement between the Parties to the Convention on the Reduction of Cases of Plurality of Nationalities and on military obligations in the event of a plurality of nationalities, signed in Strasbourg on 6 May 1963, an agreement concerning the interpretation of Article 12 of the Convention, I have the honour to inform you that France has decided not to be bound by the provisions of Chapter I of the Convention.
Correlatively, France also decided not to be bound by the second protocol amending the Convention on the Reduction of Cases of Multiple Nationalities and on Military Obligations in the event of a plurality of Nationalities, signed in Strasbourg on 2 February 1993.
This letter constitutes the notification of denunciation under articles 12.2 of the Convention and 7 of the Second Protocol.
