In light of Decree No. 53-192 of 14 March 1953 as amended relating to the Ratification and publication of international commitments entered into by France,
Describes:
The Convention between the French Republic and the Swiss Confederation for the correction of The border between the departments of Ain and Haute-Savoie and the canton of Geneva, made in Bern on 18 January 2002, will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
The Prime Minister and the Minister for Foreign Affairs shall be responsible for the execution of this Decree, which shall be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
C O N V E N T I O N
BETWEEN THE FRENCH REPUBLIC AND THE SWITZERLAND CONFEDERATION BORDER RECTIFICATIONS BETWEEN THE DEPARTEMENTS OF THE AIN AND THE HAUTE-SAVOIE AND THE GENÈVE CANTON
The President of the French Republic and the Federal Council Swiss, desiring to develop the border between the two states, have agreed on the following provisions:
Article 1
1. The border is rectified in the following areas:
(a) At the height of the creek of Ecraz, between terminals 130 and 133, Department of Ain, commune of Saint-Genis-Pouilly, and the canton of Geneva, commune of Satigny, for a surface area of 1,060 m², in accordance with Annex 1 (1);
(b) Height Des Bois de Chancy, entre les terminals 10 à 25, département de la Haute-Savoie, communes de Viry et de Valleiry, and le canton de Genève, commune de Chancy, pour une surface de 2,842 m², pursuant to Schedule 2 (1);
c) Along the route de Soral à Viry, between bounds 31 and 35, department of Haute-Savoie, commune of Viry, and the canton of Geneva, commune of Soral, for a surface of 1,326 m², in accordance with Annex 3 (1);
d) A la height du ruisseau Le Chambet, entre les terminals 188 et 194, département de la Haute-Savoie, commune de Veigy-Foncenex, et le canton de Genève, commune Of Jussy for a surface area of 350 m² in accordance with Annex 4 (1).
2. Annexes 1 to 4 are an integral part of this Convention.
3. It is reserved for minor changes that may result from the aborted boundary.
Article 2
1. On the entry into force of this Convention, the Permanent Delegates to the Franco-Swiss border shall be responsible for proceeding, as regards the sectors defined in Article 1, to:
(a) The demarcation and measurement of the Border;
b) The establishment of the spreadsheets, plans and descriptions of the boundary.
2. After completion of the said work, a record with tabels, plans and descriptions of the new route confirming the implementation of this Convention shall be Attached as part of this Convention.
3. The costs of performing this work shall be split in half between the two States.
Article 3
The preceding provisions shall repeal the earlier provisions relating to these sectors. Included in previous minutes.
Article 4
This Convention shall enter into force on the first day of the second month following the date of receipt of the last instrument of Ratification.
