DECREE NÚLDO 538

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

WHEREAS:

I.-That on April 22, 2016, the Government of the Republic of El Salvador signed the Agreement of Paris.

II.-That the Instrument referred to in the previous recital has been approved

by Executive Agreement N1765/2016 of 4 October 2016, and

subject to consideration by this Legislative Assembly for ratification.

III.-That the said Agreement does not contain any provisions contrary to the Constitution,

being ratified.

BY TANTO,

in use of the authority established in Art. 131, Ordinary 71 of the Constitution, in relation to the

Art. 168, Ordinary 41 of the same, and at the initiative of the President of the Republic, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the support of the Deputies: Santiago Flores Alfaro, Jackeline Noemi Rivera Avalos, Ana Marina Alvarenga Barahona, Ana Lucia Baires de Martínez, Roger Alberto Blandino Nerio,

DECRETA:

Art. 1.-The Paris Agreement, consisting of a preamble and 29 articles, signed in New York City, United States of America, on 22 April 2016, in

name and representation of the Government of the Republic of El Salvador by the Minister of Relations

Exteriors; approved by the Executive Body, by Agreement Nagren 1765/2016, of October 4

Art. 2.-This Decree will enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.

GIVEN IN THE BLUE HALL OF THE LEGISLATIVE PALACE: San Salvador, at the seventeen days of the

month of November of the year two thousand sixteen.
