INDEX LEGISLATIVE DECREE No. 380 .-
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
I. That the July 31, 1824 came to light the first newspaper in El Salvador, with the name of MERCANTIL political weekly, thanks to the efforts of the priest and Dr. Jose Matias Delgado, beginning in the publication of the first issue of the newspaper quoted journalism in our country.
II.- currently the Salvadoran journalism has contributed his serious work and guiding the right solution to our problems;
in exercise of its constitutional powers and initiative of Deputies, Juan Ramon Mena, Rafael Guillermo Reyes Duran, Juan Ricardo Ramirez Rauda, Baltasar Dueñas Rivera and Doris Osegueda, DECREES:
Art. 1. Denomínase 31-July each year, JOURNALIST'S DAY EL SALVADOR. "
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
