DECREE Nº 380.-

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

WHEREAS:

I.-That on July 31, 1824 the first newspaper in El Salvador came to the public, with the name of WEEKLY POLITICAL MAGAZINE, thanks to the effort of the priest and Dr. JOSÉ MATIAS DELGADO, starting in the The publication of the first issue of the newspaper's journalism in our country.

II.-That in the present the Salvadoran journalism has contributed its serious and guiding work to the proper solution of our problems;

POR TANTO,

in use of his constitutional and initiative powers, of the Deputies, Juan Ramón Mena, Guillermo Rafael Reyes Duran, Juan Ricardo Ramírez Rauda, Baltasar Duenas Rivera and Doris Osegueda, DECCRETA:

Art. 1. -Denominase on the 31st of July of each year, DAY OF THE JOURNALIST OF EL SALVADOR. "

Art. 2.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
