DECREE NO 278

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That on 25 September 2009, the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the United States of America was signed America and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador for the Merida Initiative, Plan Security Cooperation for Central America-Economic and Social Development Fund; Functional Goal, "Ruling Justice and Democratically"; USAID Activity No. 519-0461, "Justice and Governance with Transparency."

II.-That said Instrument has been approved by the Executive Body in the Foreign Relations, by Agreement No. 110/2010 of January 28, 2010, and submitted to this Legislative Body for inclusion in the

III.-That the aforementioned Convention does not contain any provisions contrary to the Constitution of the Republic, being ratified.

BY TANTO,

in use of the power established in Art. 131, ordinal 7th of the Constitution of the Republic in relation to Art. 168, ordinal 4th of the same, and at the initiative of the President of the Republic, through the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

DECRETA:

Art. 1.- ratifies in all its parts the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador for the Merida Initiative, Security Cooperation Plan for Central America- Economic and Social Development; Functional Objective, "Ruling Justice and Democratically"; USAID Activity No. 519-0461, "Justice and Governance with Transparency", signed on September 25, 2009, which consists of a Preamble, Seven Articles; Annex 1 to the Cooperation Convention, Extended Description; Attachment A to Annex 1, Plan Illustrative Financial; and, Annex 2, General Estimates for Cooperation Agreement; approved by the Executive Branch in the Foreign Affairs branch, by Agreement No. 110/2010 of January 28, 2010.

Art. 2.-This Decree will enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
