DECREE NO 721

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

WHEREAS:

I.-That on 24 September 2009 the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Human Rights was signed. Economic, Social and Cultural.

II.-That the said Instrument has was approved by Executive Agreement No. 799/2010 of 4 June 2010 and submitted to this Legislative Assembly for inclusion in the Salvadoran legal order, in force and positive.

III. it contains no provision contrary to the Constitution of the Republic, being its ratification.

BY TANTO,

in use of the power established in Art. 131, ordinal 7th of the Constitution of the Republic in relation to the Art. 168, ordinal 4th of the same, and at the initiative of the President of the Republic through the Deputy Minister External Relations, Integration and Economic Promotion Encharged to the Dispatch,

DECRETA:

Art. 1.-The Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, signed on 24 September 2009 and consisting of a Preamble and Twenty-two Articles, approved by agreement, shall be ratified in all its parts. Executive 799/2010 of 4 June 2010, to which the following Declaration is presented: In relation to the provisions of Article 11 of the Protocol, the Government of the Republic of El Salvador declares that it recognizes the competence of the Committee provided for in the referred article.

Art. 2.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
