INDEX LEGISLATIVE DECREE No. 15
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
:
I.- by Legislative Decree No. 504, dated April 16, 1993, published in the Official Journal No. 73, Volume No. 319, April 22, the Law on the Circulation Tax Vehicle was issued.
II.- That Article 14 of the Act, establishes the validity of the plates of motor vehicles.
III on 31 May this year, the deadline for the renewal of the plates of motor vehicles and thousands of Salvadorans has not been able to renew the plates.
IV.- That to date, a high percentage of the plates has been successfully replaced, however, a number of owners of motor vehicles, to date they have not done as a result of legal problems, by judicial proceedings pending final resolution, redials among others.
THEREFORE

:
Art. 1. The owners or possessors of motor vehicles that have not renewed the license plates and circulation cards, have a period of ninety days from the effective date of this Decree, to renew or endorse documents circulation, except those vehicles that have pending lawsuits or legal problems.
During the period prescribed in the preceding paragraph, the National Civil Police, shall refrain from imposing the penalties referred to in Articles 117, missing No. 78, the box for minor traffic violations, serious and very serious offenses and 118 paragraph two No. 2 paragraph eighth and twelfth paragraph letter "c", both of the Law of Land Transportation, Traffic and Road Safety.
The provisions of the preceding paragraphs shall apply without prejudice to the payment of fines, surcharges and interests in accordance with the laws remain unpaid at the date of entry into force of this Decree.
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal.
