1 DECREE No. 206

THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
:
I.- accordance with Article 131, ordinal 11 of the Constitution, is empowered to this Legislature enact, in general, benefits and tax incentives or other nature, to promote, scientific, agricultural, industrial, or other cultural activities.
II.- under that women in rural areas, are the least access to health services and education, among others, it is essential to recognize the essential work they do these rural women, through which, ensure agricultural production, food sovereignty and improving the living conditions of their families.
III.- That the Legislative Decree No. 144, dated September 19, 1985, published in the Official Gazette No. 195, Volume No. 289, dated October 16 of the same year, only it recognizes the work of men rural area, declaring May 14 of each year as National Farmers' Day; so it is necessary to incorporate in this declaration, rural women, who daily, perform the same agricultural activities.
IV.- That view of the foregoing, it is appropriate to amend Decree referred to above, in the sense of declaring on 14 May each year, "NATIONAL DAY OF PERSON CAMPESINA"
THEREFORE, || | in use of its constitutional powers and initiative of Congresswoman Lourdes Irma Palacios Vásquez; and Deputies Legislature 2009-2012: Mildred Guadalupe Machado Argueta, Zoila Beatriz Quijada Solis and Maria Margarita Veiled Bridges; and with the support of Abner Deputy Ivan Torres Ventura. DECREES
:
Art. 1. reformed Article 1 of Legislative Decree No. 144, dated September 19, 1985, published in the Official Gazette No. 195, Volume No. 289, dated October 16 of the same year, as follows:. || | "Art. 1. It is declared on 14 May each year, "National Day of Peasant PERSON".
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
GIVEN IN THE BLUE ROOM OF THE LEGISLATIVE PALACE: San Salvador, on the twenty eighth day of November in the year two thousand and twelve.
